Welcome to Bear With It ("we," "our," or "us"). Bear With It is a digital-wellbeing application that helps you
monitor selected apps, set limits, and block excess use. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the app.
By using Bear With It, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
Information on Your Device
- Monitored apps and rules: The apps you choose to monitor and the Time Limit, Schedule, and Open limit rules you configure
- Bedtime and setup: Your bedtime window and onboarding choices
- Usage data: Local usage minutes, open counts, extensions, and short-term daily history used to enforce limits and show charts
- Preferences: Setup and permission state needed to run the app
- Support messages: Information you send if you contact us for help
Core data is stored locally on your device (for example via SharedPreferences). We do not require a Funny Bear Apps cloud account for core limiting features.
Permissions
Android
- Accessibility: Used to detect when a blocked app comes to the foreground and show the block screen
- Usage access: Used to read app usage minutes and open-related events so limits can be enforced
- Notifications: Used for low-time and blocked-app alerts
iOS
- Family Controls / Screen Time APIs: Used for blocking where supported; automatic usage and open tracking may be limited on iOS
You can revoke permissions in system settings; limiting and blocking features may stop working if access is denied.
How We Use Your Information
- Enforce your app rules and bedtime-based limit day
- Show dashboard usage, charts, and remaining-time estimates
- Present the block screen and process Extend actions you choose
- Send local notifications related to limits
- Respond to support requests you send us
Data Sharing
Bear With It does not sell your usage data. Usage and rule data stay on your device for app functionality.
We do not operate a cloud sync service for your monitored apps as part of core features.
Data Retention
- Daily usage history is kept locally for a limited window (for charting and day resets)
- Uninstalling the app or clearing app data removes local settings and history, subject to how your OS retains leftover files
Children's Privacy
Our app is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date when we do. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
